- What are Istishari Hospital's general patient visiting hours?

Main Entrance hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

For the comfort of your loved one we suggest that you limit your visiting hours to the following 10:00.a.m. till 10:00 p.m.

The Emergency Department entrance is open 24 hours a day. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the waiting areas.

Visitors suffering from colds, sore throats, or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
  • Maternity Visiting Hours
Only one person is allowed to visit the Birthing Center at any time of the day or night.

Visitors need to ring the doorbell in the Birthing Center and the Mother/Baby Unit in order to be admitted. Only parents are allowed to enter the baby units.
  • Intensive Care Unit / Critical Care Unit
At any given time, only one visitor is permitted to enter. No children are allowed.
  • Isolation Areas
Visitors are only allowed to enter after they have been educated on proper protective techniques and that the techniques are strictly followed.

- What should I bring with me to the hospital?

If your surgery requires you to stay at the hospital, it is important that you pack necessary items such as comfortable pajamas, slippers, and any personal toiletries that you may require. Please refrain from bringing jewelry or valuables as we cannot be responsible for any lost or misplaced items. If you are admitted through the Emergency department, we will help to keep your valuables in the hospital safe deposit box and provide you with a detailed receipt of the stored items.

- Can a family member stay with me overnight?

Only one family member is permitted to stay with a patient in private accommodations for an additional fee.

- Is smoking allowed at Istishari?

Istishari Hospital is a smoke free hospital, smoking is allowed only in designated smoking rooms outside the hospital premises.

- Can I take my own medication during my stay in the hospital?

For patient safety reasons, the Istishari Hospital healthcare team is only allowed to administer medications to our patients that are provided by the hospital. Patients are strongly recommended to inform their care providers of medications for chronic illnesses so that arrangements can be made to secure the provision for these medicines. The Istishari Hospital is not responsible for any complications resulting from breaking this policy.
